From Gleaning, to Grooming, to Glowing....

Dear Sister,

I am honored that you request to learn from me. As I delay not to teach, here is my first lesson...  To begin with, rather than depending on friends or even books from which to glean, go directly to the ONE and only perfect Teacher. Open your Bible, ask God to reveal who He is, and then read for one purpose only, read to Know Him.  As you have thoughts and insights during your reading, write them down and date them. When your cup is filled and "runneth over", may you be the one from whom others seek to learn. I will be the first in line.

Here is my second lesson... There is one way to strengthen a feeble prayer life.  That one and only way is to pray. The Lord can not strengthen something that does not exist. A new creature in Christ who prays Scripture meditatively (filtered through one's heart),and reads/meditates on God's word, will be strengthen in their prayer life with motivation and encouragement and power by the Holy Ghost.

I will also look forward to getting splashed when your cup runs over, as you learn from HIM.

                                         The Anointing - True Story

This happened when Miriam was about 4 years old.  She hysterically screamed, terrified, after seeing hideous faces in her bedroom. Because 0f this, some friends (a married couple) came and taught us about anointing with oil.  The four of us anointed the church and parsonage.  Here is what we witnessed as we did this and the aftermath:

After LaDon anointed the bathtub faucet he did not know why but he went back to touch it.  He felt heat when he went back ot touch it.  We later learned that when demons leave it causes heat.

The same bathtub would not get clean when scrubbing it.  After the anointing, we were able to scrub it clean.

The church office typewriter did not work well.  As soon as it was anointed the color of it became brighter, as if a gray fog over it was lifted (demon?).  The typewriter  worked considerably better after that.

To get to the church office LaDon had to walk through the sanctuary. Whenever he walked through at night he was uneasy.   After the anointing he could walk through at night in peace, no uneasiness as before.

When we had completed the anointing of the church and parsonage, a beautiful gentle rain came down.  It was a final cleansing of the Lord on the church and parsonage.

That next Sunday there was a power in the sermon and after the service was over, people sat in silence (totally unusual).  Then as they gradually began to get up to leave they did not visit with each other as usual but were silent. Theywalked past the pastor (LaDon) without even a greeting.  An elderly woman (age 90) quietly said to LaDon, "The Spirit was here this morning."

That is all I recall for now.
HE IS MIGHTY!     HE IS GOD!    PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!

READING TO GAO

Today I received an e-mail sharing the good news that Gao is released from prison.  This indeed was exciting news as Gao has been in  my prayers, being a severely tortured persecuted Christian in China. As I continued to read of his current condition, my heart was saddened. It has been reported that after three years in jail, Gao has been "utterly destroyed". He is emotionless, and "basically unintelligible".

I prayed, "Lord, Gao can be made whole again.  Please send someone to read Scripture to Gao. And to read everyday that Gao may be quickened (brought to life) by the power of the Word."  Immediately it came to mind that I should be the one to read to him.  Hmmm, is this my crazy thinking or could this be from the Holy Spirit?

I went to my spiritual counselor and the love of my life. I asked him what he thought, is this wild thought of reading to someone on the other side of the world from me or is it from God?

My husband, my encourager  my "deep well" responded something like this:  "This sort of thing gets me excited. God transcends all of time and space."  Then he opened his Bible and read Acts 2:6 - "...the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man HEARD them speak in his own language." Husband expounded on to explain that a multitude of different nationalities were gathered together and as they listened, each one understood, each one HEARD in their own language.

Do you think I became encouraged?  Keep on reading for more...

A while later Husband came up from his shower (a great place to be alone with God, to HEAR His voice). He said that as he was praying for Gao, his thoughts went to Psalm 51:12 and he asked that Gao be restored.  Then Husband's hope is that as Gao's persecutors witness Gao's miraculous restoration, they could do NOTHING else, but to fall prostrate before God Almighty.

How exciting is that?

As Husband left for work minutes later, I followed him out the door with words of thanksgiving for encouraging me and sharing in my joy.  I asked him, "Isn't this more exciting than going on a vacation for excitement?" Without hesitation, Husband agreed.

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:19-21

Thank you for listening. Off to read to Gao.

May Gao hear and may he be restored by the quick and powerful Word of God. AMEN!

Note: Not finding fault with vacations, just rejoicing that when we can be too easily satisfied with entertainments of this world, we can find that our all sufficiency really is in Christ. As the persecuted church says, "When God is all I have, I find that God is all I need."

Love for my WALKIE TALKIE

My wireless new Walkie Talkie
Transmits beyond the stars with glee.
For me this two-way stretch was free.
For Him, He laid bare on a tree.

Stretching my legs down to the "T"
Talking with One who set me free.
Asking Him, who needs a prayer?
What comes to mind is prayed with flair.

And then I ask again, "Who now?"
The inner voice is there somehow.
Another prayer is lifted high
The Father hears for He is nigh.

And so it goes, I walk and talk.
My Walkie Talkie does not balk.
What fun to stroll with God above.
Conversing with the One who's Love.

SOLDIER OF THE CROSS -- DON'T FORGET YOUR ARMOR!!

Our Father in heaven, (my Father and the Father of Jesus)

May I be strong in the Lord who is in me and I in Him.
May I be empowered through my union with Him,
drawing from Him the strength that His boundless might provides.

Robe me with Your armor that I may be able successfully to stand up
against all the strategies and deceits of the devil.

For I wrestle not against flesh and blood (contending only with people),
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the master spirits who are world rulers of this present darkness,
against the spirit forces of darkness in the the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

As I put on the complete armor of God,
may I be able to resist and stand my ground on the evil day (of danger),
and having done all (that the crises demands),
may I stand firm on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, may I stand and hold my ground,
having tightened the the belt of truth
around my loins (digestion of truth, filtering and eliminating deception);
and having on the breastplate of integrity
and of moral rectitude
and of right standing with God.

May my feet be shod in preparation to face the enemy
with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness
produced by the Good News of the Gospel of peace.

May all this be covered with the shield of saving faith,
upon which I can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

May I have the mind of Christ and  protect it with the helmet of salvation
and may I wield the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

At all times may I pray in the Spirit (your will, Your words, to Your purposes and Your glory).
To that end may I keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, intereceding in behalf of all saints (God's consecrated people).

May utterance be given me, that I may open my mouth
to  proclaim boldly the mystery of the Good News (Gospel).

In the name of Jesus,
AMEN!

 ABIDE....ABIDE....ABIDE IN HIM!!!            But WHY??????

And now little children, ABIDE IN HIM; that, when He shall appear,

1. we may have confidence, and

2. not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 1 John 2:28

How?
Time with Him in the word and in prayer and being mindful of Him all day.
Honoring Him in all we think, do and say.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition but all to the glory of God.

This cannot be done in one's own strength. Quality time with Him is VITAL.

The amazing thing is that time with Jesus in the WORD and in PRAYER becomes refreshing, invigorating, motivating , energizing, and helps one to "redeem the time because the days are evil".

WE DO NOT HAVE TIME TO NOT BE AT HIS FEET.

Quit rolling over in bed, dragging your body around, wishing things were different.

Change in circumstances do not bring the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy peace, etc). Change of heart does. Trust Him. Rest in Him. Move over, walk not in the flesh but in the Spirit, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord.

Mental assent to all this (agreeing with it) is not enough. Doing it (sitting at the feet of Jesus and walking the day through in the Spirit and not in the flesh) is what it takes.

Jesus is amazing. He is beautiful. KNOW Him. LOVE Him. Sit at His feet and become better "acquainted".
Become acquainted to the depths of your soul and then "mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint".

AMEN!

The Eve before Wednesday

Twas the eve before Wednesday
And in every room
Was a pile of dirt.
Oh where is the broom?

The piano was playing
And Sam gave a wink.
Does he know how I love it?
"Keep playing," I think.

Michael was nestled
All snug in his bed.
May visions of Jesus

Dance real in his head.

And Mom sat there typing
As Dad went to work.
The dishes are piled-
A supper time quirk.

When out on the lawn
The snow sparkled white;
Waiting for snowmen
To melt out of sight.

Away to the window,
I opened it wide.
A burst of cold air
Chilled me inside.

I thought of my Savior,
Like snow, I am white.
A right robe He gives me,
My sin out of sight.

With nails in His hands,
And thorns in His head.
His blood trickled down,
I have nothing to dread.

One day He ascended
And went out of sight.
In the clouds He'll return
With all glory and might.
